I ran along the narrow hilly lanes of Donegal today,
And on my way I stopped to pray as Gaeilge,
Having relented and repented I cursed the evils of the world,
Then soon to be passing stoney meadows and bleating lambs,
And the sound of running water flowing down rocky streams,
As the heat of the sun felt familiar,
I realised I was happy.
